Slightly blurred, I shot it on my mobile through the kitchen window, but still a lovely picture...
Fabulous!

That's a great picture, we've only ever had one quickly descending onto the peanuts, would have been happy for days to have had two.
Lot to learn
I was going through the forest with the other day on the 4x4 buggy when a black and white flash flitted through the forest canopy, I was alarmed to think it was a killer Magpie!!! (they did very bad damage to my our black bird chicks the other week - it was an ugly scene), but tranquiity resumed when i realised it was a GS Woodie!!!! Lovely pic btw!!!
I have never seen one. Whereabouts are these birds common? I live up North.

What a lovely find SP. I had one for a couple of visits some time back and never seen them again.
Where about are you LiverBird. I am up in the very far north of Scotland, in Caithness and have had them here.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Always good to see woodies
Cheers, Jason
I'm actually in Liverpool. But quite a nice area with woodland and the canal fairly nearby. Don't have trees in my garden though, which I imagine lessens the attraction of it to some species. :/
Although I'd love to see a greater variation of birds in my garden, I think I could die happy if I ever saw a bohemian waxwing!
Dead jealous! :-) Couple of years ago,I had one that was never away from my feeders for 2 or 3 months, then suddenly stopped visiting and haven't seen one since :-(
