Starting off with yet more baby Spadgers, can't believe how many there have been this year & they're still arriving ... just loving it!

Poor little one, horrible tic affecting it's eye movement, surely tic can't get much bigger before it has to drop off??

Saw an amazing number of Spadgers perched all over top of Pyracantha - 30+, by time I got cam set up they had dwindled to these few!! grrr
I spotted two beetles, one slightly larger than the other, perched on seed heads of Japanese Anemone! So jewel like in the sun & those bright red legs, needless to say I don't know what variety & I cannot find it on internet yet!!
Grasshopper on bannister rail, had to use flash as light was so bad
Finally, a beautiful Tortoiseshell warming itself up on a stone in the sun a couple of days ago
Used macro setting & zoom & quite pleased with the clarity of hairs!

More Sparrows on the Pyracantha would have spoiled the composition,Wendy.It`s a lovely shot-Have enjoyed it all and.. it`s a chrysolina beetle.
Thanks for your kind jcomments W & EB ... looked at some images of C Beetle but not found one yet which shows the legs as red as mine! It certainly is a beauty EB, never seen one before!

Lovely photos Wendy, poor little spadger with that tic by its eye, you would think the mum would have a go and peck it off wouldn't you. Look at the berries on your pyracantha, I have the prickly bits only!!. Love the hairy butterfly, well taken.
Lot to learn
Great videos Wendy - I love to see the sparrows all together - such sociable little birds aren't they. I don't have nearly so many as you but there were about ten of them sunning themselves on top of my privet hedge the other day. They certainly like company. Yes - shame about the tic, hope it does drop off soon.

CB, shouldn't think you have room for any more spadgers with all your exotic horde!! Beetle was lovely but not there today .... unlike the Spadgers, & little tic face was in full view being cared for by his Mum

Poor little sausage, but he seems feisty enough & hope I see him tomorrow without that dreaded tic!

Most of my exotic bunch don't arrive until the winter Wendy! I always keep my fingers and everything else crossed that the redpolls come back, but that time's a long way off yet!
Your little 'tic-face' looks so cute - glad to see him being so well looked after by his mum!
Some really good close ups Wendy, plus the flukey flight!! Dashing to the dentist today and saw a load of swallows evidently onto a hatch of something, just outside our house, had no time to run back for camera grrr. Coming home later on there were quite a few flying ants on the path, wonder if that is what they were after.
