I saw a Canada Goose with this condition many year ago and I did not realise the cause. Now I know.

If this should be in a different section could the mods please move.
Tiger Signature
It would perhaps be helpful if parks etc actually posted notices explaining the problems. The only one I've ever seen is not to feed the wildlife because it attracts vermin.
Found an Egyptian Goose with angelwing in Hyde Park t'other day. I wonder if they are particularly at risk because of their habit of breeding at strange times of year when natural food is not at its most abundant.

An interesting blog about angel wing
That was an interesting read, Tiger. The section dealing with the increasingly aggressive behaviour of Canada geese sounded reminiscent of our larger gulls.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

Interesting picture. Maybe we should try to catalogue as many examples as possible. I cannot believe it took me so long to find out about this problem.
I very much like this poster.
Although I have already replied on FB I will reiterate that (a) I didn't know before that one could feed pumpkin seeds to ducks (b) that fresh seed can be frozen 'til required (c) also found out by googling that ground up pumpkin seeds are useful as de-wormer & parasite removal in ducks & chickens!

That is really interesting Wendy. Not sure I have ever eaten pumpkin mind you.
You should try it TM ... Pumpkin (or butternut squash) & sweet potato & red lentils with carrot & onion & stock in a nourishing soup flavoured with smoked paprika with garlic bread ... Good veggie alternative with seeds & peelings for ducks!! One of my standbys!

Sounds good advice but I do not have ducks either :)
