Hardly any birds visit my garden. We do have a cat but there's plenty of cover for them and i have two feeders with meal worms and seed in them. Despite this, I get virtually nothing other than the odd pigeon and a young juvenile robin. It makes me sad as 25 years ago I'd see birds at my table all the time.

Hi Darran, I have noticed that the favourite food for my birds is currently suet pellets. The GT's, BT's, Sparrows and Starlings are going through them by the ton. I am using peanut feeders to dispense the pellets. At least you have a juvenile Robin, that's more than I have. Be patient and I'm certain they will visit eventually.

I live in charminster which is a mile or so outside of the centre of bournemouth. I see goldfinches in some of the tree, along with the odd tit, but they don't visit the table, just fly overhead. I will get a peanut feeder and try the suet.
Goldies love sunflower hearts. Give them a try. Blue Tits and Great Tits are also partial to sunflower hearts (the small grey ones, not the black sunflower seeds which need the kernels to be removed).
