Where about are you Sarah, where was the bird seen?

Right at the top of North Yorkshire/ edge of Yorkshire dales
I'm by no means confident but I'm wondering if it's a Crimson Rosella. This is a type of parrot native to south-east Australia. If it is then it will be an escape as I believe they are a popular cage bird.
PS I found this Website which shows there have been occasional sightings of this species in the wildaround the UK

I thought that too after googling red parrots but after seeing a proper picture of one it didn't look the same as I didn't think it had the blue on its face but looking at the photo it looks like it did and I only saw it for a few seconds. It flew away when I opened the door. It was here again today. Saw it fly from one tree to another.
