Hi I am a teacher and today we noticed a large Owl high up in one of the trees in the school grounds, the other birds were going crazy. The owl was brown beige in colour very large and looked like an eagle owl from searching the internet for images. What should we do? Does someone need to go and see if it is native to the uk? I did take some pictures! How could we find out if it’s escaped from somewhere? Beautiful bird! Lucky to see it. When I left though the magpies we’re gathering. Thanks

Might also be a European eagle owl that has temporarily eluded its keeper. They are kept (and flown) by falconers.
