Vets will try and stitch it up (nasty break under the shoulder). Can she survive in the wild if they manage to fix her wing? I’m not sure the wing will be as good as it was before the injury. And I know nature, if some predator sees she is not 100% that is game over.
if she can’t be released back to wild can she remain indoors? I don’t think we have bird sanctuaries here in Belgrade, Serbia. Will also check with the zoo if they could take her in.
Tnx in advance.
Hi Mirela, a sample of organisations in Belgrade I found by googling bird rehab ...

Tnx for the reply, but these organizations are not sanctuaries. They only deal in rescue operations.
Sorry no help, an outdoor aviary would be the best for the bird to recouperate in so that it could be checked to see if it can fly again!
Can I try this indoors? I live in a building and I have no access to the backyard. My only concern is not to release her back outside if she won’t be 100% fit.
The biggest problem I can forsee is that the bird will imprint on you and may never be able to forage & feed in the wild!
I see. I really hope they will be able to stitch the wing and that she could return to the wild. I was even thinking to keep her with me if she doesn’t recover. She is the cutest. But I have no clue if a wild bird can live well in captivity. And sadly we don’t have any bird sanctuaries here. :(
Do you have social media, e.g. Facebook or X(twitter) where you can search for someone with aviaries & expertise in rehabbing wild birds?
Sadly no. Still searching.
