There is a strange noise coming from my wall.
This happens every day and generally starts after about 14.00. This happened last year also but stopped in the winter and started again a few months ago. There is no sign of any animals or anything else gaining access through the outside wall. If I bang the wall the noise doesn't stop or startle whatever is there so it is hard to tell what it is. I have tried to capture this in the attached files. Does anyone know what is making this noise ?
I want to make sure there isn't a protected species in there before proceeding with any further investigation

Yes. It happens every day after about 14.00/15.00 and continues until the evening
I don't think it's in your wall - Do you have a chimney and fire place in that room? and is there a body of water nearby? canal, reasonable sized pond or similar?

There is no chimney and fire place in my house. There is no water nearby at all.
if I go on the outside of the wall I can also hear it.
what makes you ask about the body of water ?
The noise reminds me of Coot making little contact call noises
It definitely isn’t something like that.
this is coming inside the wall which is brick on the outside and there is no obvious sign of anything getting in. You also don’t hear anything moving about (such as a rodent, squirrel etc)
I think it might be squirrels... How far below the roof line is it? They do like wall cavities. Mine made noise similar to that but nothing like so regular. If it's squirrels you should be able to find out by patiently watching your roof line.
It is nearly at ground level. It is about 20 cms above the ground
