We often see great pictures of the stars of the bird world but the ordinary birds never get a look in.
I would like to start a picture thread of those birds that we share our everyday lifes with like the Sparrows and Pigeons etc...
Lets all take our cameras out and give them a chance to shine.
I've decided to bring this excellent thread back to consciousness. This ringed pigeon has been visiting for some weeks now - he's adorable!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
What a very handsome bird.
Gosh, I'd forgotten this thread. Well done Clare for resurrecting it. Here's a a Starling pretending to be a woodpecker.
We haven't heard from Robert for ages. I hope he's all right.

Awwwww!
So glad you have re-started this thread Clare, reading through it from the start has been an education for me - I had truly forgotten that this was where I started posting my very first garden bird pics 'cos I had gotten a new fancy cam for my birthday! It also shows me that the quality of my current pics is not as good - probably trying for fancy shots with no expertise maybe!!! Food for thought - learn more on how to take pics in Winter light!!!
