The forecast was not great shakes, other than not raining, and with some new found Lightroom confidence, I headed out, via the deer park. Public access is frowned upon (the gates are locked lol) but there is a big lay by on the opposite side of the road, and a barbed wire/ hedgerow-y fence
I spotted a black stag too, but didn't manage a shot of it
On, now, to the Trailway itself, from the same starting point as the last post, hoping for the Barn Owls to materialise.
A good few Robins about
And flashes of colour, despite the gloom
And some flitter-fluttering too
A couple of Whirly-Birds flew over
And a Redwing
An even brighter splash of colour, preceded me for a short while along the path, feeding as it went
Before seeking a higher perch. I spotted a female too, but she wasn't in modelling mood
The usual bevy of tits was about
Mrs Chaffie, intently avoiding camera/eye contact!
One of the less frequently spotted tits put in an appearance
Rustling caught me ear, and a pair of Robins were scratching through the leaves, on opposite sides of the path
Almost back at the car, and a Kestrel was keeping a watchful eye over the meadow
And a Pied Wagtail was atop the farm building, its tinge of yellow to the face indicating it was a this years fledgling
Not long ago, I wouldn't have gone out as the light was so poor, but taking a little time to explore Lightroom, and since slightly tweaking some camera settings, bad light won't be stopping play any longer!
Stay Safe All
Great set PB, lovely variety of birds on these short, grey days, thanks for a cheery post :)

Lovely set of photos PB thank you for sharing.
Nice set of shots and good wander by the look / sound of it. I've started going out in lower light more often but got a bit carried away lately and ended up throwing out a lot of shots, too dull, too noisy to recover, more my fault than anything else but, I agree, modern cameras and knowledge of the various softwares makes a huge difference
Lovely photo's PB. That male bullfinch really stands out and nice to see the deer.
