I'm afraid I've been a bit lax (again) in sorting and posting photos recently, so I have a number of dates I went down the Trailway, this one being the latest
First go at the moon with the big lens
I don't see many Rooks around here
Couldn't believe my luck, as I got out of the car several Bullies were cavorting
The sun was still casting it's gorgeous soft light over everything,
There were a number of Gulls cruising over, the ground is still pretty wet from the flooding last month
It looks like the competition for funkiest moustache was won by a Stonechat!
A flock of Redwing alighted in a tree, one stopped up high
And one brought blue sky with him!
Ground level movement caught my eye... it seemed quite tall and slim.... Mistle Thrush possibly? (first for ages if it is)
First of the season, Fieldfare
I kept getting distracted by a Pied Waggie scuttling along the path just in front of me
And..... back to the Fieldfare... it was a small flock of 6 or 8
Just to prove me wrong, another Rook flew over!
Before a Robin finally shoo'd the Waggie away
Another was tsking from the nearby vegetation
And a little higher up, Mr Chaffie watched in splendid silence
Whilst Mrs busied herself the other side of the path
The only one of many Goldfinches I managed to snap without a twig in front of its face... looks like it's enjoying a pitted olive!
Flit, scurry, flit....
And awaaaaaayyyyyy
Lovely looking Blackbird
Surprise of the day was a Great White Egret in one of the fields (I did say it was still very wet lol) I think it's the first one I've seen along there
As I was nearly back at the car I thought it strange I'd not seen any birds of prey, when an overhead cacophony attracted my attention
Maggie, with something, coming in to land
And a Heron concluded the couple of hours, on it's way to the river, by the looks of it.
Hope you enjoyed the trip, thanks for perusing
