Big Red, Little Red (Leighton Moss)

Being October and middle of rutting season the Red Deer were frequenting the pool areas near both the Grisedale and Tim Jackson hides,  in fact, they were being seen all over the reserve and down in the far woodland area too.    Early morning and late afternoon seemed to be the best time to see these magnificent animals and hearing the stags bellowing although often hidden in the middle of the reed bed.      Here's a selection of photos taken on three different days...........  in no particular order.....

Amazingly, most of the Teal stayed put despite the hinds and young being close ............

I've got many more pics of the deer but I think this will suffice as covered most scenarios !!
