Back to Leighton Moss RSPB up in Silverdale and it was a perfect day for the Bearded Reedlings with a cold but bright day and not the slightest breeze. There must have been two dozen and many more around the reserve visiting one of the grit trays and we opted to go to the Grisedale area where they treated visitors to prolonged displays pinging as they went !! I took a few pics but hopefully with a sunny day on the forecast tomorrow we will see if they come out to play again; here's today's efforts ........

Great set of pics Hazy.
Bearded Reedlings were out again today, I was passing the Causeway grit trays so stopped to take a few more photos .......
Fabulous photos Hazel be proud of them I know I would be had I taken them
Wonderful Hazel. I think the first one is my fave out of this batch ...
Thanks folks, with a very wet, windy day today up in N.Lancashire, I'm currently ploughing through other photos taken around the reserve including Red deer and visit to the salt marsh which will go on a non-Bearded Reedling thread. Doubt the fabulous Beardies will be out today as they prefer calmer conditions and to be honest, probably like you after seeing so many pics .... I'm all Beardied out !!! Thanks for viewing.
Never Hazel we don’t see them that often and no matter how many times we see them it’s not enough, thank you again for sharing you fabulous photos
Brilliant photos of these charismatic little birds. The best I've ever seen. What a treat for you and us.

Many thanks all; we spent a final morning at Leighton Moss before driving back home at lunchtime; it was a beautiful morning and we were treated to a Beardie-fest once again and even when we left the grit tray area and walked back towards the Visitor Centre we got even closer views as these iconic birds were in the reeds right by the side of the path ! I couldn't resist photographing them again as these super close views were too good an opportunity to miss out on ..........
and right down on the path in front of us to get their own grit ..........
To be honest, there are far too many photos taken this morning so will close this thread off before you are swamped LOL
Aw, little cuties ... > Glad you had another good day ... Well, half day ...
