Mozzies and the stuff they spread is a subject that has some direct relevance and personal interest to me (as a human). Even to the point that perhaps malarial parasites do not always have negative outcomes. This dates back to the times of WWII. Nothing to do with D-day, and more to do further east.
Of course some want to eliminate the vectors of (primarily human) disease. But those vectors are also food for other species. It's a (very) nuanced subject :)
