A few from a recent trip to Brandon Marsh.
As always, any ID corrections are welcomed.
Probably one of the last sunrises I'll capture before late summer/early autumn, and one with mist rising from the pool.
The days sightings started with Mr & Mrs Canada Geese, plus siblings....
And finally, the elusive cuckoo, albeit not great photos....
Mr & Mrs MH feeding the youngster....
A rare sighting of Barney, and one prompted by a very nosey wood pigeon, which can be seen looking up the tree stump behind the owl box...
Chiffchaff, nicely backlit by a blue sky
More from the CG clan....
Mrs Gadwall and her brood
Now for an OYC (pronounced oik), or more commonly called, carrotbill
The matting is to prevent erosion of the small island.
I think this might be called an elongated grass bug (Notostira elongata)
I always struggle with spider ID, I'm tempted to think orb weaving spider. Corrections always welcomed, likewise confirmation of its prey.
A brimstone on what looks like a moth orchid
And finally, the one that keeps evading a photoshoot......
Species observed
