It's back on the plant pot, so at least I know where it is! It is not hiding in my camera ... . Could be nearer 50mm overall ... it got bigger as it got nearer!
There certainly are loads of these crab spiders, wonder if you could get it ID'd by Natural History Museum?

Every year we have a couple of Nursery Web spiders guarding their egg sacs in the plants, they are inclined to jump at whatever disturbs them, similar sort of shape as BD's... they certainly make me jump!!

I have sent a couple of pics to the Natural History Museum. I got an automated reply saying, 'We are trying to reply to all emails, but due to their large number delays are inevitable. We apologise for any trouble this causes'. So, we will wait and see ...
