I was just going to sit and enjoy a cuppa in my lounge, when I heard a large buzzing ,on trying to locate realised it was actually among the folds of my cardigan, but on shedding and shaking cardi, it somehow decided my Hair bows were far more interesting..So a frantic undoing of said bows as I did not wish to be stung as allergic to wasps bees hornets etc,,Thank fully our own European Hornet
Safely in Jam Jar, to be transported back to the outdoors.
The Bows or the grey hair as his nest may be ,that he mistook for whatever Ha!!
Well done! You were a very brave soldier ...
Bit frightening Kate, likely saw you as some exotic flower full of nectar!
So pleased you've not deserted us Linda, never seen a Scorpion fly for real!
Nicely backlit Linda, showing the wing detail very clearly.

I took this photo of a Spider in my back garden about half an hour ago. It was wandering about on top of a large plastic plant pot. I got a few shots then, as usual, it came on raining and both me and the spider ran for shelter. Help with id would be appreciated please. I have looked on tinternet, but can't seem to find it .... . Quite interesting I thought.
Nice photo BD, is it a big spider ?
Yep. It is Snappy. Body maybe 20mm, overall maybe 70mm. The rain stopped, I have just been outside and it was there again, same spot. I put my camera back on the tripod and moved with about a foot or so, and it jumped directly at me, on to my camera! I nearly wet myself! I don't know where it is now, but I gave my camera and tripod a good blast with that canned compressed air stuff, and came inside. It's raining again now ...
I can't see it either. Didn't realise we had so many. Some look like it but are a lot smaller than this one.
