Great macro's Linda. Nice to see them making the most of the sun
Two shots of a Hawthorne Shield Bug seen down my local woods yesterday. Of course I had the wrong lens on, I had my 70-300 instead of my macro, but we do what we can ...
May be the last of these for the season, who knows? I think these are a pair of Common Darters. But then again I am usually wrong.
Low light high ISO pictures. Tried to get the best depth of field I could but needed to let as much light into the camera as possible. Hopefully you will be able to make them out.
Excuse the bird poo on the bench.

Brilliant photos Ed.
That bird poo could be food for the common darter.....
You know the old saying, one species fish is another species poison......
This year has to be the worst ever for me and seeing dragons, damsels, darters or chasers, apart from outside my home county, sorry, metropolitan district or whatever name is now used. After Conwy at the start of June Norfolk soon after, and a recent Cornwall visit, I'm declaring the Metropolitan District of the West Midlands, nature depleted!

Thank you Mike. All pictures I have posted so far on the forum have been taken from my garden. Not got out much to see what the local wildlife habitats are like down here in the South Holland part of Lincolnshire. I have really noticed a downturn in visiting butterflies this year. Sandra has been doing her best to make sure all the butterfly attractors are in tiptop condition for them. Just hope next year will be a great one for them.
Nice photo's Ed, I like the eye detail.

You're welcome.
Gardens can often be very underestimated as to what wildlife lives and passes through.
Keep a watch for these pretty little destructive insects ...
