Hoverfly thingy...well a canny mind away back to last year lol

Great detail ED. I love macro. Not easy to get it sharp, particularly outside, when there is often a very slight breeze, which you wouldn't normally notice..
Thank you BD. Hopefully once I have saved up for another lens I will try and get a bit closer and try out the Focus stacking capabilities of the R7.
A first for our garden and pond. Super excited to see this Emperor Dragonfly. Not the best background in the world to take the photo but had to get it at all costs.
Wow! That's a cracker Ed. You do right to be proud of that one. Wonderful colour. As for the background, it's looks fine to me, light enough to show the Emperor off in all it's glory ...
Thank you BD. Was hoping upon hoping the R7 would not play up on the autofocus. Glad to say it behaved today. :-)
Stunning photo Ed - what a cracking dragon

Depth of field. A wider aperture on the camera lens would have blurred the background more.
Great to have seen it in the garden Ed.

Many thanks for the ID.
I think generally bees, butterflies, moths, and many other species haven't faired well this year.
The bumblebee population is close to being on a par with rocking horse manure!

My bumblebees are doing really well here even in the cooler/wetter conditions!
