Hoverfly thingy...well a canny mind away back to last year lol

Strikingly captured flower Snappy, no idea what it is though! And fab stripy buzzy things too
Day off, so naturally pretty iffy weather. Snapped a few ickle things in the garden
The last flower looks like Astrantia major (greater masterwort) to me.

Quite amazing to capture a couple and watch them morph into adults, the spots only appear as they're drying out!

I don't think harlequin, or any of the less widespread UK species.

I'm currently more interested in the small (?) fly making an appearance on the green leaves under the hoverfly photo. The one wirth the black spot on its wing and with the pale coloured eye.
Any idea?
