If you go down into the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise.
Well, not actually a wood, but hedge along path we take on our morning constitutional. An odd noise, heard overhead this morning, which I had heard before but forgot. A Jay warbling away. Dead surprised to see six of them happily together. I've seen groupings before, but I don't think I've seen as many as six.

Amazing find Angus, lucky you and many thanks for sharing!

I believe Jays are clever mimics of sound; I once remember a Jay in our old garden making an very different type sound which happened a couple of times when I eventually was able to attribute it 100% to a Jay who I could see making the sound. Will see if I can find the sound clip I took of it.
HERE ( only sound of the Jay and ignore the robin sound in the background ! )
