Good news. Have had them visit all winter. Has been very mild though.
I've not seen one for over a decade, so can only comment on absence. The absence (where I was) wasn't down to badgers, either.
Same here tuwit in my chalk quarry, then there was a garage showroom built up top on previously wild land and out of the blue a Mum hoggie turned up in my garden with three babies in tow, such a privilege, must have been displaced and trundled along by a busy dual carriageway til it found the entrance to the quarry ... still around now but cannot feed due to rat infestation! Grrrrrrr
