Butterflies and Moths 2023
There haven't been a lot of butterflies around here this year so far. The earliest was a fresh Red Admiral on the 3rd of january
Since then I've seen a Speckled Wood & Peacock. There have been Brimstone's about but I haven't seen them. Plenty of time left in the year to go chasing butterflies.

You did it right ... good possibility for Common Emerald!
Thanks Germain, it looks like the Common Emerald in that colour would be nearly as hard to spot as the caterpillar

That's as near as I've seen to a butterfly yet. Just this minute It has come on hailstoning ...
Green-veined White:
Tried an enlargement for ID but the light's bouncing off it so no clear detail ... there are a few different green caterpillars but wondering if Angle Shades?
