It's well overdue for starting. This is the link to last years thread
Butterflies and Moths 2023
There haven't been a lot of butterflies around here this year so far. The earliest was a fresh Red Admiral on the 3rd of january
Since then I've seen a Speckled Wood & Peacock. There have been Brimstone's about but I haven't seen them. Plenty of time left in the year to go chasing butterflies.
Best wishes

That PL is in fabulous condition which suggest local rather than migrant - I love the underwing of this butterfly esp. when the sun is shining

Lovely captures SM, sightings picking up here in East Kent, seen a Gatekeeper, Small Tortoiseshell & several Red Admiral plus lots of White ones chasing each other around but not landing to feed!

I was really surprised to find it, especially where it was. Nothing on the buddleia plants.
Thanks Wendy. You are doing well, not seeing any in my garden at the moment.
Luckily overnight rain stopped by midday and the sun actually came out inviting enough for three R A's at same time
QUICK..... EVERYONE TO WENDYS.....she's got sunshine!!!
You're all welcome to share, can do some gardening when you get here!!
Lovely captures SM. Lucky you with the painted lady. Really like your small skipper shot.
