It's well overdue for starting. This is the link to last years thread
Butterflies and Moths 2023
There haven't been a lot of butterflies around here this year so far. The earliest was a fresh Red Admiral on the 3rd of january
Since then I've seen a Speckled Wood & Peacock. There have been Brimstone's about but I haven't seen them. Plenty of time left in the year to go chasing butterflies.
Best wishes

I still can't find a fritillary PB
I've seen 2 this year, neither identifiable. One landed in the garden briefly, but was gone by the time I go the camera, the other flew by me at Badbury Rings, without pause...looked on a mission lol
Very nice snappy, hardly anything to see here where i am.
Thanks William. It's not been good, today is the first time I have seen quiet a lot and a reasonable variety.
Google Lens reckons one of the Epinotia, tortrix moths but am not convinced!

Thanks SnappyMac. Very few and far between with the white admiral. No sun since I got those shots.
