Butterflies and Moths 2023
There haven't been a lot of butterflies around here this year so far. The earliest was a fresh Red Admiral on the 3rd of january
Since then I've seen a Speckled Wood & Peacock. There have been Brimstone's about but I haven't seen them. Plenty of time left in the year to go chasing butterflies.

Common Blue - Male - 1st time I have seen it here and 1st one for the year:
Jersey Tiger - 1st one this year:
I have now seen 27 species of butterfly this year.
I love blue butterflies, but unfortunately don't see many. The Jersey Tiger Moth is excellent too ...
Thanks BD. I only saw one common blue last year and so far the one this year. I was on the lookout for the Jersey Tiger Moth and this one flew past me.
