It's well overdue for starting. This is the link to last years thread
Butterflies and Moths 2023
There haven't been a lot of butterflies around here this year so far. The earliest was a fresh Red Admiral on the 3rd of january
Since then I've seen a Speckled Wood & Peacock. There have been Brimstone's about but I haven't seen them. Plenty of time left in the year to go chasing butterflies.
Best wishes

Nice set Mr Kes... I think your Meadow Brown is another Gatekeepr (I think the 2 white spots are definitive) and your Frit is a silver-washed ... the front of the forewing if you squint slightly looks like 1386
Great ones Mr Kes, you are seeing more than I am at the moment.
Lovely selection Mr Kes, I like your Fritillary, have still not seen one...
Not finding any of these at the moment Mr Kes, they were very common last year.

Typical ...
Excellent butterflies and moths Mr Kes. Still very few around here. Mind you, it is raining again ...
If you squint too much you can see your own eyelashes

My one looked a lot like yours but far more blurred & washed out ... should have used that tripod!
Thanks Wendy. I got lucky and saw it in afternoon sun so I could use a fairly high shutter speed
Thanks BD. Yes had some nice days last week.
