I looked for this year's thread which doesn't seem to have been started yet as it will be a few weeks before we see some of the young birds ......
so will start of 2024 with one of the first young to appear - a rather cute wild "funny wabbit" which was one of two kits seen. Only record pic taken through window.
(Last year's thread HERE )

The moorhen pair on the pond beneath our apartment have been doing an amazing job trying to protect their chicks from the constant visits from a grey heron. Last year none from 8 survived but out of 8 chicks this year we still have 6 of them; hopefully growing bigger by the day until they are no long of interest to the heron, I caught four of them yesterday morning perched on a reed stem and thought it too cute not to share !!
How lovely to be able to see them from your balcony aitch but very sad to see the numbers dwindling, always a drawback
Aw, how gorgeous. I saw 6 new born ducklings on a small fishing lodge a couple of weeks back. 2 days later they had all gone, just the mother left ...
Nice to see the robins Mrs Ed. We don't seem to be seeing any robins here lately, just the occasional one calls in to the feeders.
