I looked for this year's thread which doesn't seem to have been started yet as it will be a few weeks before we see some of the young birds ......
so will start of 2024 with one of the first young to appear - a rather cute wild "funny wabbit" which was one of two kits seen. Only record pic taken through window.

I've no idea regarding the tern chicks, though I am aware that their original nest, (which was exposed on an island to gulls and crows) was predated, which could be why they're on the pontoon, and not ground.
That said, earlier this year, we had Canada geese nesting up on an osprey nest. The goslings when fledged, took the leap of faith from the nest, and I understand all seven survived and were ringed by the resident bird ringer.
Check the following photos, shared on a Flickr Group, from a regular to the reserve of the Canada goslings taking the leap of faith....
To think I'd only been there 24 hours previous, and missed the event....

Chances are, with my diary as it is, they will have fledged and migrated!
Looks a little grumpy?
Part of a family group that turns up - 2 adults, 2 fledglings. The adults partake of sunflower kernels whilst the fledglings sit to one side, and go into a bit of a wing flutter (a 'feed me' display).
Who rings canada geese?
We currently have a plethora of young Sparrows, both House & Tree, love it! (Great word, Plethora)
This pic disappeared!
That's a cracker Scozmos! perfect timing. You've got a wonderful expression on the little un's face and a super catchlight too ...
