Oh dear, yes could be blocked anal glands, or maybe just an itch! When dogs, how can I put this, have a poop, they secret a smell from the glands, that is when you see other dogs sniffing, they smell the marking. When they block, they do this, as it is annoying. Working in the practice that I am in, not me, but the vets, you do not want to be near when that end is being dealt with or near the vets after!!!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Thanks CL, happy to report there was no repeat behaviour of that kind last night so think I will take that as a positive
