Catch-Up Post #1 The Trailway 7/11

So being in a lazy state of mind, I couldn't be bothered with sorting and resizing the photo's I've taken over the last few weeks, until I gave myself a talking to yesterday and have come up with 4 or 5 posts worth, including me and Mrs PB at Minsmere.

As the title suggests, highlights (and lowlights... it was very variable!) from down the Trailway

From the garden, before I set off on the two minute walk to the start of the Trailway, Starling

And higher in the same tree, Goldfinch

At the Trailway, examples of varying light, a Crow followed by a Robin

Munching down the lichen

Overhead one of several gulls that drifted by

A bit further afield a Buzzard

It wasn't long until he gained an escort

A first for ages for me, Blackcap

Followed by Blackbird

I was hoping for 1st of the season Redwing, but in the field I've always seen them before several Wagtails

And Meadow (probably) Pipits

One of the Waggies had a distinctly yellow face, indicating first winter, I believe

A bit of a surprise, Red Admiral.... not such a surprise it didn't want it's photo taken!

No Redwing, but a flock of Fieldfare passed overhead several times

Heading for the river, Little Egret

And atop the Great North Dorset Cormorant Tree, was one ripe fruit

I wandered on to where I normally loiter for a few minutes (there's one specific tree that seems to attract all manner of birds, all the regular finches, woodpecker last time I was there, Redwings last winter, and today it was Chaffies .... still far fewer than a couple of years ago though

So I started meandering homewards, movement caught my eye... Chiffchaff

Playing a game of if I don't move, you won't see me,,, Cyril

Another Robin, this one giving it some gusto

Another "not a Redwing" moment

And back to the tree that hid the Blackcap... was it still there?

At first glance, a black head, so yep....

At second glance..... it's a bit ummmm... pinkish!!

A delightful end with Mr & Mrs Bully :o)

I hope you enjoyed the first walk

Stay Safe All
