Last Thursday I went to Minsmere and was told that a family of Water Voles were showing at the pond. I appeared to arrive at Vole lunch time and two or three were showing very well and feeding.
Also a pair of mating Migrant Hawkers
At East Hide a distant Hobby.
The other report at reception was of a Buff-breasted Sandpiper. I saw it but at great distance, these shots were taken at the full frame equivalent of 1400mm and heavily cropped.
The Water Voles were very much the highlight of the day, never seen them so close or confiding before.
Best Wishes,
Trevor
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Wonderful Trevor. I love the Water Voles ....
