After yet another successful year on the Odds & Sods thread, initially started I think by Hazy, it might be wise to kickstart the 2023 thread off.
Thank you to those who have contributed to last years thread, and there has been very interesting odds and sods in "Odds & Sods 2022" that aren't enough to place into a dedicated thread, which you can look back on the following link:

What better for me, and as yet, I've not ventured far, ewe know what I mean, with this lassie on Baddesley Clinton estate yesterday....

Well google reckons it’s a tree pipit. Never see. One so I’m going with that.
Mute swans. Normally obliging and easy to track. This trio snuck up on me. I didn't hear them over the noisy of an excavator, so wasn't ready for them until they popped up from behind a bank.
There are three of them, but they were quite widely spaced.
My R7 sent through its paces of eye tracking, making photography a lot easier, picking out the birds from the cluttered background.
Much easier now with background trees in deep shade from morning sun.
Lost them behind trees along edge of footpath.
90% luck, 5% field craft, 5% camera skills.
First ever sighting of Bramblings in the garden late this afternoon! Thrilled to see them.

Roe deer stag, sunrise (7.45am) Manor farm restoration. I was toting my Canon 80D with Sigma 18-300mm lens. I needed wide angle as I needed landscape photos in detailing the restoration process; which I am pleased to say is rapidly nearing completion.
