Had a couple of hours at one of my local reserves yesterday. Not a lot happening, no Kingfisher showing, no Water Rail and chicks showing - only a Hawker playing hard to get.
When suddenly at about 4:30, just before I was due to leave to go and pick the good lady up, something sneaked along behind the reeds. Not been one of these seen on this little reserve for years. Needless to say I was a little bit late arriving to pick the good lady up
