Late Afternoon stroll around the Haugh

With the weather been so hot yesterday we opted to go a stroll around Baron Haugh when it was cooler...about 6pm...

It was quiet but relaxing...I saw a kingie wizz pass me but never got one shot!!!...just happy to see it again.

Anyhoo here's what we did see....

Lots of lovely trees lol

A den ?

Not sure what lives in this if anything

Finally some movement...

Couple of horses

Just as we approached the wildflower meadow .....wee Jenny was sitting waiting for her picture to be taken

Ah some water at last...not that there was much to see

Lots of fish for Kingie

As you can see it was hard to see anything but a lovely walk all the same

Water levels have clearly dropped

RRB showing us the way to the next hide

Cmon let's go!

Not that there was much to see

Lapwings were too far away

And that was our wee couple of hours out at Barons Haugh....seems like ages since we have been out!

Thanks for looking...

Stay safe everyone;-)

  • Must be nice to get out and away from the hard work of the garden Linda, beautiful as it is. Looks a nice relaxing wander :o)
  • What a lovely area to explore and no wonder Kingie is there with that amount of fish so hope you catch sight of it again. Great set, thanks Linda.

  • Hi Linda,

Looks like a lovely stroll on a bright day out. I find a lot of bird life keeps a low profile this time of year so concentrate on butterflies for a while. It looks like the weather is going to be too nice this week, 30 degrees + in Suffolk, may be keeping a low profile myself for a while.

Thanks for sharing your lovely pictures.

    Trevor

  • That looked a fabulous evening stroll, all that nice blue water, the RRB, kingie and from the photos alone, there was plenty to see, and  share.

Many thanks for posting, that has cheered my day up by massive leaps, I'm getting withdrawal symptoms stuck in here at the momentThumbsupThumbsup

I can't even get out in to the garden to watch the swifts and others going about their business....

  • Thanks everyone...was just so nice to be out and about...Trevor am rather short of butterflies up here...maybe the constant wind? Am certainly no betting the heat yous are...
Hope you feel better soon Mike...nothing more frustrating than being cooped up indoors!!!

  • Good to join in on your walk Linda, lovely area to look around and isn't it amazing that we only have to have one week of sunshine and the water evaporates!!!! Interesting to see your 'den' in the copse, I often see one here and wonder where the elves are lol.

    Lot to learn

  • Happy to share it with you Gaynor...we had rain last night and today so plants got a wee drink...still very windy though...Yeah it was a bit strange seeing the den but I had to go in it and get my pic taken...well why not lol

  • Pretty sad bumping up my own stuff to get rid of spam on 1st page :-(

    Thank you Linda.

Things actually took a big turn for the worse, walking was impossible, even lying in bed was painful. I'm now receiving daily nurse care, after a battle to get something instigated, to bring things back under control. Hence no posts or replies, sitting at the computer or balancing a laptop were just not an option.

However, I feel things have finally started to improve, I can now balance the laptop while in bed, and rejoin the forum.

  • Well done Mike, glad to hear you are feeling better than before, I haven't been on for a few days and it seems people are bored:(

    Lot to learn
