Bens, Lochs and a Few Birds

Yesterday was another beautiful day so we decided to go a drive around Loch Lomond & the Trossachs as previously I had only ever been to a place called Luss.......you can see the route we took below....

The scenery was spectacular although I had to keep my eyes firm on the roads as they were pretty tight and full of motorbikes...a was beginning to regret the drive as we passed through Callander (been here before..lovely wee town )....road works ...grrrr

So finally came to our 1st loch but it was soooo busy I could only abandon the car for 2 mins to take pics.

Loch Lubnaig

So from here on in a didn't really take note of the names as even for a Scot a couldny pronounce them

Not much wildlife around sadly as too  many fishers, paddle boards etc

A lovely wee waggie though

Of all the Lochs we stopped at this was my favourite..probably because I could pronounce it aswell lol

Lochearnhead

and then just as we sat to enjoy the scenery we noticed Lizards basking in the sun next to us

I have never seen Common Lizards before so that was a nice 1st as I was pretty disappointed with the lack of birds by this point

I had to stop quickly to take a pic of this Ben ...am not sure which it is....they all had snow on their peaks!

Also had to make a Pitstop here as it looked stunning

Just needed a bird of prey or something!!!!...was not to be :-(

It was time for  food stop at a town called Killin

I had a picnic with us and we were serenaded by a lovely chaffi

Another Waggie lol

Another lovely Ben

More Lochs..,still no birds

Finally made it round to Loch Lomond were there was some wildlife!!

Walking on water

Was I glad to see the Cormorants

Until the speed boats drove them away

It was a very  long scary drive at time, very beautiful scenery  but deeply disappointed with lack of wildlife so needless to say I won't be doing that again in a hurry lol

Thanks for reading anyhow...Next outing shall be better.

Stay safe

(Pardon the Scottish Accent)

Thankfully I only had one lorry carrying hay in front of me for a good 30 mins so that was a nice slow drive! Lol

Thanks Mike I may actually get one made into a canvas (the 1st Lochearnhead one) I love that scenic pic and there is a motorbike in it aswell lol

I/We look forward to seeing a photo of the canvass in situ.
