Some of you may recall this last year I had a ringed starling turn up in my garden on 3/3/21 and after contacting the BTO I found out he was ringed as an adult male in Montrose on 5/7/20 and I was the 1st recorded sighting.
So fast forward a year and the pretty boy has returned from his travels to my garden for a good feed lol. I have contacted the appropriate person once again and I await a response.
I am so thrilled to see him again ;-)

I would have been too, Linda. Just shows that your Scottish hospitality is appreciated by Starlings, I wonder where he has been all winter.
The colour coded rings are so much easier to read that the standard BTO rings.

I just happened to put out some pastry today for a wee change and that's exactly where he landed. Will let you know if I find out anything Tony....its certainly made my day ;-) I would have had no chance if it was only the metal rings as I have a few siskins with metal ones but sooooo tiny...however I was able to read Ringos partially (my GSW) and he was ringed in my town as a fledgling last year...;-)

Well after speaking with 3P9s original ringer there has been no other reported sightings so where he was for his winter holidays shall remain a mystery. He did however inform me he caught and ringed 1280 Starlings in his garden last year....incredible!!! ;-)
