It's probably an ideal time to start the 2022 Odds & Sods thread off, with some squabbling starlings....

This pair of starlings were having a right old go at each other, whilst another nipped in to the coconut shell for a food

Wow! That is a big hole. If it fills with water it will be like one of those in the comedies where someone thinks it's just a puddle and steps in it ... then disappears ...
Lol..well it won't be me BD lol....That where they wanted to close the path of from anyhow...gonna be missed as it was a lovely walk

Three more for my Fungi collection. I believe the first one is a Turkeytail, The second one is Coral fungus. I can't find anything like the third one online - maybe someone with a better knowledge of Fungi than me - (which is most people) - can help. It was about six inches across and 3 inches deep and was attached to a fallen log. It looked rather like a steak pie to me!
Three more fungi from this weeks walks. I think I know what the first two are, but would appreciate help with identifying the third one ....
Giant Funnel Mushroom. I thought this id rather than the Trooping Funnel Mushroom because of the dimensions 17cm diameter, 12.5cm stalk length.
Blue Roundhead Mushroom
Now this is the interesting one. I think it might be a Pink Waxcap or maybe a Jubilee Waxcap. The info I have found here says that Jubilee Waxcaps have 'Transverse Gills running inbetween the main gills' like mine have, but they are also very rare, so I can't see it being one of those! Identification help would be appreciated

Thanks Cin, I believe you're right. I have seen them on upright trees, viewing more from the underside when higher up on tree trunks.
