It's probably an ideal time to start the 2022 Odds & Sods thread off, with some squabbling starlings....

This pair of starlings were having a right old go at each other, whilst another nipped in to the coconut shell for a food

Grey Heron seen from our balcony a few days ago .......
There is a small heronry on our resident parkland and this looks to have pristine feathers
Huge wingspan and beautifully edged in that blue/grey border

A few from my recent walk along the canal bank
Coming in to land ...
Mind out jay-walker! .... or swan-swimmer
Found a quiet spot to have a drink
Before an early night

Lynn L said:Lovely photo Linda Where is the 3 in a frame that ILR is talking about?

A few from the last three or four weeks.
Grey heron on the look out.
Brown hare relaxing on the edges of a freshly harvested field. Lots of field edges have been left unploughed to allow wild flowers to grow which is fantastic.
Male kestrel on a farm silo.
Usual little owl doing the usual as I pass through its farm.
First signs of the rut starting but not really got on the way yet, up in the Peaks. Although they are truly wild, can jump dry stone wallks and go where they please a select few oddly have been given nicknames (identifiable by marks). This one is "Chip", who I have been watching for 3 or 4 years, the top of his left ear is missing.
Red legged partridge. The local valley shoots have been reduced in number due to Avian Flu which is no bad thing.
