I'm not a big fan of smartphone cameras, but I always will give credit where credit is due.
Smartphone camera software works hard to obtain the optimum image clarity, and if you utilise the various modes, will often work for a clearer image, whereas DSLR's in any form, will often go for the operator settings to obtain the more realistic image.
