It's probably an ideal time to start the 2022 Odds & Sods thread off, with some squabbling starlings....

This pair of starlings were having a right old go at each other, whilst another nipped in to the coconut shell for a food

Lot to learn
Love the stonechat photos, and I have to agree with you, as nice as thrushes are, the redwing is probably my favourite.
A few from a very quiet start to the year.
Some Snipe from Moor Green Lakes. These two were to the left of Colebrook hide.
Need to hold my breath.
Looking a little coy
Unfortunately, reeds got in the way of photographing both birds properly. Even then, only one ventured towards me.
90% luck, 5% field craft, 5% camera skills.
Teal really are very pretty birds. Who needs birds of paradise when we have these on our door step. This one flew into Colebrook lake (north) on Moor Green Lakes. The weather god and camera focusing god smiled on me on Friday - though the focusing god didn't smile all the time.
The teal flew in and landed on Colebrook lake. I picked up on it quite late, I was photographing Oyster catches on Tern island when it zoomed in from the right, behind said island. I just managed to swing my camera to the left of the island, when I picked it up on its landing approach, about 75m away. The camera's auto focus fared better and better as the bird approached where I was standing. All I had to do was keep my camera pointing in what I hoped was the right direction. Needless to say, images heavily cropped.
Getting closer on a long (60m) glide path.
Focusing god wasn't paying attention for this next one.
And down
