I see there are already photos of damselflies, so it probably time to kickstart the 2021 thread
Last years thread, started by Noisette, thank you for last years thread, I hope you don't mind my starting the 2021 thread. You can look back here, Dazzling Damsels and Dragons 2020

My first sightings of banded damselflies for 2021, but there will be more to come
And a second visit to Middleton Lakes, and the banded damselflies suddenly came from nowhere!

Lot to learn
After the Lord Mayor's Show here are my efforts yesterday
A banded damselfly, at rest....
A willow emerald damselfly, also at rest....
The willow emerald damselfly in flight, well, just coming in to land,
A few banded damselflies in action
And a nice cropped action shot of a banded damselfly. There were others, all very blurred, but this one just hit the focus point perfectly...
A nymph of some sort at the lake today, probably came off my wetsuit - returned to grow on

Thank you.
I forgot one, which really did turn out to be a corker, and heavily cropped without any loss of quality, I was just lucky the damsel was just on the focal point at the perfect moment.
A few Emeralds from today.
Male immature or Female?
Male?
Female immature?
My bird photos HERE
Had a gorgeous Golden-ringed Dragon patrolling the garden this morning
Can the experts pease help with ID of the dragon please.
Found amongst Foxglove plants at the back of the decking next to our garden pond. Sat there without moving for a few hours.
Many thanks
Tony
