I'll start this years thread off with a couple of insects from a walk in the woods with my homemade beating sheet & a stick
a few 12-spot ladybirds
& a sleepy Weevil that I think is Lixus pulverulentus
Last years thread is here https://community.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/f/all-creatures/206718/all-about-insects-2020
Best wishes

It almost looks menacing!

Not often we see many beetles in the garden, though I'm sure they're around, but not (sensibly) when I'm around, and this one wasn't John, Paul, George or Ringo, it was a stag beetle....
Italian Striped bug / Minstrel bug - Graphosoma lineatum in my garden today. The sun came out for what felt like the first time in ages (since before mid-summer it feels like) and lots of things came out to play

From what I understand not yet, Wendy. I'm not sure when they first turned up here.
A fly on the wall!
White Tailed Bumblebees have been very prevalent in the garden this year, and nice to see.
Getting up close and personal!
Getting stuck in to the nose bag!
Ichneumon suspiciosus in the garden yesterday.
