Well it's time to start a new thread for this year. I saw my 1st Red Admiral of the year yesterday & have had a couple of moths in the house & in the trap overnight.
The house moths come out of the firewood (I think), Ive had 3 around the computer this month, I just keep putting them back out Mompha subbistrigella
Photo taken of it in the plastic pot before I threw it out.
Then in the trap a couple of moths, Eudonia angustea, always around in the winter,
& this one which is several weeks early, not sure why, Orthosia incerta "Clouded Drab Moth"
Last years thread is here https://community.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/f/all-creatures/206393/butterflies-moths-2020 for those that want to have a bit of bedtime reading.
Best wishes

Birding is for everyone no matter how good or bad we are at it,enjoy it while you can
Like everyone else I was out enjoying the sunshine yesterday, my wife and I were at a local Woodland Trust Site. Lots of Peacocks about, some in two's and three's spiralling up into the air and quite a few Brimstones never quite finding what they were looking for. One Brimstone briefly landed on a yellow Primrose, not long enough for a photo, then away again.
Today in our own garden, which has lots of mostly yellow primroses, a Brimstone landed amongst them and displayed for quite a few minutes.
Trevor.

Trevor, those Brimstone photos are great. Apparently we have them on the Island but I have never seen them and I've never seen anyone post photos on our local wildlife groups so I think they may no longer be present:(
My season has officially started, 4 days ago had an Orange tip through the garden that I failed to get a snap of so Speckled wood gets the honours
