Today a large flock of 40 or so Redwings descended on the fields around our local parkland and although they were pretty skittish and distant I hard cropped a few pics for you ....
and a blue tit landed nearby !

Lot to learn
Valley kestrel this morning.
Posted them the last 2 years so great to see they are back to nest in the same place for the third... hopefully get to watch it again until the chicks fledge.

We have a grey heron as an annual visitor, to our pond, which has fish in.

Yes, I put the pond in around 7 years ago.
We don’t have fish in it but I suspect the Heron was looking for Frogs. He was having a good look in all the wee holes and cracks in the sides that I left for Frogs or Toads. We had found a big pile of what looked like regurgitated stuff around two or three months ago which we suspected may have been the work of a Heron.
Yesterday’s sighting seems to have confirmed our suspicions. :-)
