Time to start this year's thread of odds and sods (Last year's Odds & Sods HERE)
Today a large flock of 40 or so Redwings descended on the fields around our local parkland and although they were pretty skittish and distant I hard cropped a few pics for you ....
and a blue tit landed nearby !

I'll just follow the paw prints

Brilliant photos Germain.
Another four weeks for our daffs to flower, which is normal, and all looks set to be on course.

Beautiful weather today so took a fifteen minute walk to our local mere on the parkland and it was interesting to see the heronry in full swing with busy birds preparing their nests ......
Sorry, it was difficult to get really clear view due to many trees around the edge of the mere and the herons nests partially obscured by more twigs on the island, however, this gives you an impression of what we saw.......
this rookie pair were lagging behind in nest building almost looking perplexed as to where to start albeit for a few twigs !!
bringing in more nesting
and passing it to the Mrs ....
Hopefully all will progress nicely with chicks in time and there will be an official survey done on Monday of the current nests.
