Starting with a first for me ... Sparrowhawk in neighbour's garden here in quarry, only ever seen a seemingly lost youngster many years ago!
Grabbed ID vid footage through d/glazed door, then battery died & by time I'd replaced it to go outside for better res a delivery driver stopped next door & frightened the bird off!! grrrrrr
Hope it's a one-off for the sake of my Spadger horde!

I think this was just about the only bird I photographed during June
It was the best view I've had of a Whitethroat or any warbler all summer.
And moving to another tree

This is a definite ahhh moment, for those so inclined. Caught on a trail cam I put out on a footpath in Finchampstead.I've struck gold with this footpath, which is actually quite busy, both with human and animal traffic. This particular spot is a animal highway. I've caught badgers, foxes and now Muntjac deer scent marking.
Video cut in half to get past file size limit.
Now the stag marking territory.
Here's a good spot to mark, he sniffs.
Head lowered to start scent marking.
A good rub to transfer scent
90% luck, 5% field craft, 5% camera skills.

This Thrush now seems to be resident in our garden now.
Lot to learn
