Thanks for the comments. Looking foward to seeing the kestrels next year, the parents did a fantastic job this year keeping the squirrels and others away.

You've no idea how long I had to stand with my arm out, holding onto the stick before he landed on it for a photo. :-)

Well done James on your macro shots, the spider looks as if it has a net over the young to keep them stable.

Hazel, I cannot remember either if there were 2 Cuckoos reported when you and Mike were with us (it's my age, you know--sigh!). At least we saw that one, and amazingly close, too. A couple of years before that we were there with my sister and brother-in-law and we were lucky enough to see three Cuckoos flying around together but they were fairly far away, flying over the woodland.

I don't think they have TJ, they are like see through I will try and get a better shot sadly lots of female with egg sacks but none with young so will look out for one.
