Starting with a first for me ... Sparrowhawk in neighbour's garden here in quarry, only ever seen a seemingly lost youngster many years ago!
Grabbed ID vid footage through d/glazed door, then battery died & by time I'd replaced it to go outside for better res a delivery driver stopped next door & frightened the bird off!! grrrrrr
Hope it's a one-off for the sake of my Spadger horde!

Bird activity has been a little quiet of late, though I'm presuming the insects are out in force with the increased bee activity here and the swifts are having a feeding frenzy; "Up, down, flying around, looping the loop and defying the ground." (from the Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines).

House Martins (looks like we have three pairs now nesting under the eaves) are continuing their breeding season without problems and no harrassment from the house sparrows invading so long may it last. It is too difficult getting pics with my current eyesight of the speedy Martins (I call them F-aston Martins lol ) so you'll have to make do with these hard cropped ones ….
