Starting with a first for me ... Sparrowhawk in neighbour's garden here in quarry, only ever seen a seemingly lost youngster many years ago!
Grabbed ID vid footage through d/glazed door, then battery died & by time I'd replaced it to go outside for better res a delivery driver stopped next door & frightened the bird off!! grrrrrr
Hope it's a one-off for the sake of my Spadger horde!

A couple of not so common sightings from yesterday,
The morning saw plenty of starlings around again, but this one provided the best photo opportunity,
And this rare old bird flew overhead, a Mustang P51

That's not a Mustang..... it hasn't got a mane or tail!

Awww, bless that little blue tit; they do get worn out at this time of year but I'm sure it's enjoying a few free mealies. We have another batch of house sparrows that fledged; I now realise the fun I've been missing not seeing them at the last garden lol
the little darlings lol

Later on, a magpie takes the podium on the same leyandii
Black Headed Gull
And finally, some mares tails (for PB's benefit, the ones without manes ).....
"Mares' tails and mackerel scales make lofty ships to carry low sails."
Or more correctly, cirrus clouds, often a sign of a change....
If you're wondering, we had a mackerel sky this morning, and a very brief light shower later on....
Lovely pics everyone. Here's a few from me …….
then into a grey patch of cloud - pity really
even the polo ponies were finding it too hot today !
